REPAIRING SMALL DENTS IN WALLBOARD
Objects can come in contact with your walls and cause scratches or dents. These are easy to fix.
Begin by sanding the surface so that it will provide a good base for the compound. Be sure to use coarse sandpaper and a block or for larger areas to repair, a power sander can be used. Using a 3-4 inch spreader, fill in the dent with a good grade of compound, pressing it firmly into problem areas.
For larger areas allow to dry overnight and apply a second coat. Once it is completely dry, sand area and prime it for paint. Use fine sandpaper to remove high or low spots.

PATCHING CRACKS IN WALLBOARD
You can purchase adhesive and non-adhesive drywall tapes, fast drying patch compounds and drywall bandages. Be sure to read the instructions carefully and follow each step. Some compounds dry quickly and others take longer. The area to be patched should be clean and dry before you begin working.
The best way to work the plaster into the cracks is to stroke, firmly, in both directions. Be sure to check the area being repaired to ensure that enough material is applied in all areas. The knife should bend with pressure as you draw it along the cracked area. Repeat the passes as often as necessary to force the material well into the cracked surface. Now, use the putty knife to remove any extra material. Once the completed area has dried, sand it and prime it to prepare to finish as you desired.
